How Do You Stay Healthy - You'll Need A Personal Plan, Even If You Enroll With ObamaCare

Not long ago, I was discussing with an acquaintance how my health insurance, even with a $5,000 deductible had gone up $200 per month in the last few years. The reason is obvious, health care costs keep going up, and even though I've never used my health care insurance, nor been to a doctor in two decades, I still get hit. Meanwhile, they are planning on raising it again due to ObamaCare. Soon, I'll have to ditch that policy for a different one, it doesn't make sense anymore, still, if everyone's health care is going up what is everyone else going to do?
I have a better plan than ObamaCare - It's called taking care of yourself, taking responsibility and coming up with a proper diet and the appropriate exercise. Another acquaintance asked me yesterday; "You seem to be healthy, Do you have any work out or other health habits you enjoy as hobbies?"
Indeed, I do actually. I thought about that for a moment, and decided maybe I need to make a better plan, and consolidate and strategize on what I am already doing to make it a permanent fixture and habit in my life. So, I started to take stock of where I am now. You see, I have a carbon ten-speed, I plan on riding it across the US prior to my 50th birthday. I am going to buy a kayak soon. I walk most days 3-4 miles.
When it comes to diet; I cook soups, homemade salsa, etc., and I don't do any of the bad stuff, for instance; I don't smoke, I've never done any drugs, don't believe pharmaceuticals are wise to take care of those things you can fix by living a healthier life. Like I said, I Haven't been to a doctor in two decades, don't drink hardly ever, a few White Russians a year. I ran the mile in college, quite a good athlete, I may start running again, need to ditch 7-more pounds first, don't want to blow out my knees.
I asked my acquaintance what sort of activities he does. Well, he too has a healthy lifestyle; running, biking, Triathlon and he eats well, pays attention to what he eats and makes note of it.
Now then, it appears to me after thinking on all this, that far too many people have forgotten their personal responsibility to take care of themselves, they need to stop expecting the doctor to give them a pill, the government to protect them from the poor diet and exercise (or lack of) decisions they make. Please consider all this, and review your own personal fitness plan.
